Apple Orchard

Aromas of an orchard, on a crisp fall day
Delectable sun kissed apples shining like huge rubies
Rows of apple trees as far as the eye can see
Sweet aroma of fruit inviting bumble bees to feast giving golden honey to slather on bread

Floor of orchard alive with life too
Rotten apples became too heavy and their lifelines become a banquet for worms
Little children in bare feet with baskets in tow
Pulling and wrenching globular red beauties
Sinking in our teeth, hearing them explode
Bad boys and girls get a worm in their apples
Nature’s way of revenge

Butterflies riding the wind
Red hair little girl with freckles and pinkest skin you ever saw
Lays down by rivers edge devouring her apple
Fire in the sky as sun gets ready to rest for night
Birds flying here and there going back to their homes
Worms cuddling inside apples, for a safe nights lullaby

Children one by one, give good byes to orchard
Our mother’s home waiting to bake delectable treats
Can’t what for morning, apple turnover meets my mouth
