Summertime

School no more till autumn
Children playing and being silly billies
Fruits we have waited for all year.
Watermelon, peaches, plums, brings a smile to the tummy

Flowers have arrived in full bloom.
Colors of summer are comfy
Hear the waves once again.
Sea sprays cool as we collect seashells by the seashore
Castles lined as far as the eye can see.
Do not forget the motes, for our fair ladies will need protecting

Gelato, ice cream, and ices, sampling different varieties
Carnivals all summer long
Cotton candy arrives in pastel colors
Sticky fingers, blue lips, tacky hair
Boy how good is life?

Baby birds of spring growing to adult hood.
Fourth of July, a light show in our skies
Barbeques all summer long
Corn on the cob, potato salad, hot dogs, and hamburgers
Can it get any better!

Our clothes remind us of treats we had that day
Labor Day, summer is coming to an end making us sad
Fun ends once more; children going back to school
Then a smile comes to our face, Christmas will soon be here!
